There are a lot of plot threads that feel abbreviated or abandoned, as obvious DLC hooks, and you should be aware there's no DLC coming and no further development or content. Pinging for resource nodes, pointless crafting, lots of open world RPG distractions and not enough RPG meat. Massive, mostly empty maps, small pockets of dungeon with table scrap narrative payoff, and an engaging main plot with great set-piece moments that are too few and far between. If you played Dragon Age: Inquisition it's almost exactly like that. If you play the game trying to finish every quest you'll put in 80 hours, and maybe that's worth a $12 commitment, but 60 of those hours would be mindless, story-empty collection quests.

It depends on your tolerance for open world time-filler nonsense. Andromeda was a complete mess when everyone was shitting on it at release for the awful animations, but really the terrible animations were the smallest problem with the game - It was just the most obvious problem because it could be described with a screenshot or gif. But it's honestly not even worth that much - The singular redeeming quality of the game is the combat, but with no enjoyable context to the combat, what's the point? Even the multiplayer, which should be pure unfiltered combat-gameplay, manages to be a complete boring slog. If you're really itching to play it, wait for it to drop to $5. Multiplayer is an absolutely mind-numbing grindfest where your best hope is to bump into a cheater (or cheat yourself) to get a shitton of money and XP so you can actually play the game at the intended power level (after you spend a shitton of money to unlock rank increases, of course). Building up colonies doesn't feel like you accomplished anything and there's very little purpose for doing anything with the colonies except for mindless resource-mining style quests. The environments are barren wastelands of pointless open space - They changed it to open-world and didn't put anything in that open world. The story sucks, the characters are some of the most godawful mouthpieces in gaming since voice acting became a thing, the voice acting is bad, the general gameplay is extremely tedious, the planets and the two new alien races are uninteresting (seriously a brand new galaxy and we only bumble into two types of aliens?), it's still buggy as hell, your choices don't matter, progression-puzzles in the game are literally alien sudoku. There's very few games I could say aren't worth your time, Mass Effect Andromeda is at the top of the list of worthless games for this decade. I honestly only stuck it out because I wanted to finish it because 'I came this far, might as well keep going'. Mind-boggling how a bunch of adults said 'YES! THIS IS OUR FINISHED PRODUCT!'ДЇor a comparison to films 'I, Frankenstein' and 'R.I.P.D.' are films that are better written than ME: Andromeda.
